I can't wait to go to the beach this weekend! This is exactly what it will be like:
what's the story, morning glory?
what's the word, hummingbird?

I'm begging you pleeeeeeeeease
My life is basically ruined right now because I can't find an mp3 of this song anywhere.
Was anyone gay in the early 90s? And do you have the technical knowledge of how to convert your cassingle of this song into digital form for me?
This song was my theme song for like EIGHT WHOLE DAYS when I liked this boy in my sixth grade gifted language arts class. He wore baggy rugby shirts and had a bowl cut!

dog fancy

You guys, what kind of dog do I want? Recently I have been running into papillons around my neighborhood. My family had one for over ten years. We just answered an ad in the paper, where she was described as a terrier mix. She was a magnificent little lap dog until she got diabetes and peed on every carpeted surface in the house. Eventually she was so blind that she would get lost in the garage on her way to the backyard. I feel really guilty that I didn't go with my mom to the vet when they had to put her to sleep. After she died my mom got socks with little papillons on them. We were never breed patriots but out of mourning I think my mom became more proud of Butterscotch's royal Belgian heritage.

good news
SOME PEOPLE who never read my blog and then suddenly start reading it again come to me and complain that I just talk about tv. Well, those others of you who share this sentiment will be happy to know that Gossip Girl episodes from this latter half of the season aren't available online so I will have to wait for the DVD, which means I will watch the episodes all at once and not have time to react to the idiotic stuff that happens all the time, so GOOD FOR YOU.
Instead, I'll talk movies: I Want Someone To Eat Cheese With is so good! It stars Jeff Garlin, Stew the Meat Man from Strangers With Candy, Sarah Silverman, Bonnie Hunt, the bald head writer from 30 Rock, Phyllis from The Office, Amy Sedaris, Aaron Carter, Gina Gershon, and some other people you'll recognize.
Also, music: I have been listening to the Butterfly Lovers' Concerto non-stop this week because it makes everything so sweet. I am not an expert listener of the violin, but I think this is one of the most beautiful scores for violin. It is performed with a western violin but they make it sound like a two-stringed Chinese violin. That's magic!
This was the best version I could find on YouTube. The recording I have doesn't have any Chinese instruments, but it looks like most of the orchestra here is playing Chinese instruments. I also like that the boys wear blue and the girls wear pink.

this is my life right now
In the coffee shop they started to play "Blue Jay Way" but then stopped it halfway through to play Marquee Moon. I almost started to cry and wanted to go home and listen to it completely. Now they finally started up Magical Mystery Tour and "Blue Jay Way" is playing again.
I thought you all should know this.

news from the hills
First of all, Spencer is making a lot of sense these days so I don't know that I can enjoy a Hills where Spencer speaks logic, even with JustinBobby back in the picture to speak in nonsequiter platitudes. Then this:
During emcee Craig Ferguson's speech, he said: "I'm a new American so I'm trying to decide which party to vote for." We sensed an opportunity coming. "Should I vote for the Republicans?" he asked. We seized the moment and craned our necks in [Lauren] Conrad's direction. She clapped wildly. "Or the Democrats?" Ferguson asked. Conrad immediately placed her hands on the table and wrinkled her nose to her friend.

Nothing's better after a hard day than the smell of lavender. I know I sound like an old lady, but if you get your hands on some good lavender-scented anything you'll know what I mean! I'm not talking about stuffing my brassiere with homemade calico sachets of dried herbs, just about enjoying some self-administered aromatheraphy via a vigorous hand washing.
Some lavender stuff is too musty and plant-y smelling (e.g. this Aura Cacia aromatherapy mist and Avalon Organics lotion I have, the latter of which smells like patchouli after 15 minutes on my skin) and some is too perfumey (Air Wick lavender and chamomile room spray, although it still has a delightful fragrance). The best lavender products are anything by Dr. Bronner, especially the liquid soap, and Trader Joe's lavender sea salt scrub and its accompanying body oil. Maybe there is nicer stuff out there but I'm on a budget, peeps.
